YRES Shares LEGO Learning at E.J. Sands Public School Fun Fair

York Region Educational Services attended the LEGO Fun Fair at E.J. Sands Public School with team members Cassie, Tharuk, Jason, and Adeline. Together, the team hosted an engaging booth where children explored LEGO art, science, and robotics while parents learned more about YRES programs and upcoming summer camp opportunities.

Cassie, the event lead, shared that one of the biggest highlights was seeing children excited to build, and noticing how many parents were interested in learning more about the programs. She described Fun Fairs as “a great experience”, explaining that they help “spread joy in the community while also educating parents about our amazing programs”.

The event was filled with energy as children eagerly participated in the LEGO activities. Tharuk highlighted how “all the children” were invested and excited to try LEGO robotics. Reflecting on the day, he described it as “an amazing event with an unmatched community spirit,” adding that he enjoyed interacting with families, seeing children’s faces light up, and working alongside a passionate team.

Jason also played an important role in helping the booth run smoothly. His highlights included setting up the booth and entertaining children at the LEGO Science station. He shared that being part of the LEGO Fun Fair was “both fun and rewarding,” especially because he was able to interact with participants, help run activities, and contribute to a positive community event.

Adeline, the marketing lead, enjoyed connecting with both children and parents while promoting YRES’ LEGO services and summer camp programs. She shared that “the event was very exciting to be a part of,” and added that EJ Sands Public School was very welcoming. She was grateful for the opportunity to help support children’s interests in LEGO art, science, and robotics.

Overall, the LEGO Fun Fair at E.J. Sands Public School was a meaningful opportunity for YRES to connect with families, promote hands-on learning, and encourage children’s curiosity through creative STEAM activities. Through teamwork, community spirit, and engaging LEGO stations, the team helped create a fun and memorable experience for everyone who visited the booth.
