Locations: Richmond Hill South Markham Thornhill East Markham North Markham Oak Ridges Aurora/NewmarketExtended care (8:00 am – 5:00 pm) at: Richmond Hill and East Markham. First-come, first-served; full locations go to waitlist.

Age Range?

Campers must be 5–16 years old at the time of camp. The three programs serve different age groups: Sports & STEAM Adventure (Ages 5–12)Robotics & AI Innovators (Ages 7–12)Future Leaders (Ages 13–16)
Note: children born before July 5, 2011 or after August 13, 2022 are outside the eligible range for the 2027 season and cannot be accommodated at this time.

Refunds, transfer and cancel policy?

Which payment methods do you accept?

As an NPO, e-Transfer is our default and preferred method. You can e-transfer the fee to camp@yorkeducation.ca after you review the confirmation/quote email. If you prefer to pay by credit card, you can request a payment link (a processing fee for credit card payment will apply).

Can I come and pay in person?

You may come in-person and our staff will assist you. However, please note that we do not accept cash payment. If you need assistance in-person, please book an appointment through email at camp@yorkeducation.ca.

Question 6

Is there a referral or sibling discount?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we offer a $50 coupon for each family you refer. Referrals will be processed after the registration period closes.

However, there is no sibling discount, as our rates are already highly affordable.

Please note that York Region Educational Services reserves the right to modify this referral policy at any time.

What is the maximum amount of referral credit we are able to gain?

Is there Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) funding for campers under 6 years of age?

Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) is an incredible program that has the goal of offering childcare for a low average cost. However, this program is only applicable for daycare centres, and unfortunately, we are not part of the childcare system. The Before and After Care program we offer is supplementary to the camp programs we offer, and can be purchased for parents that require an early drop off or late pick up.

Is there any financial assistance for the program?

Canadian Tire Jumpstart®  A community-based charitable program that helps kids age 4 to 18 participate in organized sports and recreation programs so they can develop important life skills, self-esteem and confidence.  National in scope, but local in focus, Canadian Tire Jumpstart® delivers support to children in financial need through a Canada-wide network of local chapters.  Here are some important details:      Children are eligible for up to $600 per calendar year; a maximum $300 for the same sport    Grants will not exceed a maximum of $150 per application. Please note that our goal is to reach as many children as possible therefore grant amounts will vary.    Programs or activities must encourage physical activity.    Funding preference is to pay for registration fees.    Approval of funding is dependent on available funds.    Funding is available for members of the same family for the same season.  Eligibility:      All applicants must reside within Markham.    Eligible applicants include children and youth between the ages 4 and 18 years of age.  Funding should be for a sustained program that lasts a season. One week camps are not eligible. YRES Scholarship Fund recipient may receive 100% coverage for the camp. Please check our website for regular updates. The YRES Scholarship is not guaranteed every year, and it is dependent on funding from donors.

What are the food options?

Our camp food is prepared and managed by a professional food vendor, ensuring freshness and quality. Meals, including healthy snacks and lunches, are delivered daily. All food options are reviewed by a nutritionist to ensure they meet health and dietary standards.

Late Fees

Pick up must be completed at 4 pm if you did not purchase extended care. There is a charge of $1 / min for late fees if you did not previously pay for before/after-care. For example, if you came at 4:35pm, you will be charged $35 in late fees (because camp closes at 4pm).

Does your camp support students with special needs?

At this time, our camp and counsellors are not equipped to accommodate students with special needs. However, if you need assistance, please reach out to us at camp@yorkeducation.ca. We can connect you with a community partner who may be able to provide the support you need.

Question 14

How many kids will be in class? I have a 6 year old and an 8 year old. Will they be arranged in the same class?

Maximum of 20 kids per class with a 1:4 staff to camper ratio.

They are separated by ages, unless you make a specific request and the camp director will review/approve your request.

Question 15

What is the Respect and Behaviour form?

The Respect and Behaviour Form outlines the behaviour and safety expectations for all campers at YRES. It ensures campers understand the importance of being respectful, kind, following safety rules, and listening to camp staff. The form also explains the consequences of inappropriate or repeated behaviour, including loss of privileges, early pickup, or withdrawal from camp in serious cases. By signing the form, campers and parents/guardians confirm that they understand and agree to these expectations. More details are in the registration form.
