RoboNova Tech Camp campers working on robotics

RoboNova Tech Camp is an action-packed week designed for curious, creative kids aged 11–14. Campers dive deep into hands-on robotics, learn real Python programming from scratch, and tackle exciting team engineering challenges — all in a fun, supportive environment.

Run by York Region Educational Services (YRES), our camp is built around project-based learning. By the end of the week, every camper leaves with new coding skills, a completed personal project, and a growing passion for technology.

No prior experience required — just bring curiosity and enthusiasm!

Three Exciting Subjects,
One Incredible Week

Each day blends three distinct disciplines so campers develop a well-rounded set of real-world tech skills.

🤖

Robotics

Campers learn to drive and control a robot, attach sensors and accessories, write and organize code to make it move, and solve progressively harder physical challenges — finishing with a showdown challenge at week's end.

Python Coding

Starting from zero, campers learn Python through a series of fun, practical mini-projects: a simple calculator, an automated survey, a unit converter, and a personal project they'll present to the group on the final day.

Engineering Challenge

Working in small teams and against the clock, campers design and build structures tough enough to withstand a series of environmental stress tests. Creative thinking, collaboration, and a little friendly competition make this a camp favourite.
