York Region Educational Services attended a community event at Kenollie Public School with staff member Jeff, who helped promote YRES programs, connect with families, and introduce children to hands-on LEGO activities.
Jeff shared that one of the highlights of the event was being able to connect with the community and speak with parents about the work YRES does. He enjoyed seeing many people come out to support education and participate in the community, while also using LEGO activities to help children become interested in YRES programs.
Although the team did not receive as many physical sign-ups as hoped, the event still created meaningful outreach opportunities. Jeff noted that YRES was able to connect with many people in the community and distribute numerous flyers. He also shared that the parents he spoke with were “very receptive and interested” in the programs and work YRES offers.
Overall, the Kenollie Public School event was a valuable opportunity for YRES to build community awareness, promote its LEGO programs, and speak directly with families about educational opportunities. Through positive conversations and hands-on activities, the event helped strengthen YRES’ presence in the community.
