YRES Brings LEGO Learning to Forest Run P.S. Fun Fair

On June 4, 2026, York Region Educational Services attended Forest Run Public School’s Fun Fair with team members Clement, Olivia, Michelle, and Adriana. Together, they showcased YRES’ LEGO-based learning programs, connected with families in the community, and helped create a fun, hands-on experience for children.

Throughout the event, the YRES team welcomed a steady crowd of parents and children, keeping each activity station busy and full of energy. Clement, the event lead, shared that one of the biggest highlights was “the crowd of parents we gained during the entire event,” noting that the robotics, science, and art stations were always busy. The team had the opportunity to demonstrate YRES LEGO programming and introduce families to the activities, programs, and upcoming camps offered by the organization.

Team members also enjoyed engaging directly with children and seeing their excitement during the activities. Olivia shared that “it was enjoyable to interact with the children,” and added that some parents showed strong interest in the programs YRES offers.

A memorable part of the event was seeing children enjoy the LEGO- science experiment. Michelle highlighted that she loved “seeing the kids smile when playing with the swinging hammer in the LEGO- science experiment,” especially because science activities are not always the most popular station.

For Adriana from the marketing team, the best part of the event was simple but meaningful: “seeing the kids play and have fun.” She described the experience as “so amazing,” especially being able to help the community while seeing smiles on the children’s faces.

Overall, the Fun Fair was a great opportunity for YRES to connect with families, promote hands-on learning, and share the excitement of its LEGO programs with the community. The event also gave team members a chance to work together, support one another, and create a positive experience for both parents and children.
