How the Gift Drive Works

We keep the process simple so donors, volunteers, and families can focus on what matters most: sharing care and celebration.

Community Donates New Gifts


Individuals and partners drop off new or like-new gifts, books, toys, and Lunar New Year–themed items before the event days.

Volunteers Sort & Set Up


Volunteers organize items by age and category, set up welcoming gift tables, and prepare the spaces.

Families Pick Up Gifts


During event hours, families visit, choose gifts that fit their needs, and connect with our team and programs.

Volunteer Opportunities

Whether you prefer greeting guests, organizing behind the scenes, or helping us tell the story of the day, there’s a role for you.

Welcome & Registration


Greet families as they arrive, help with sign-in, provide number tickets if needed, and guide guests to gift tables and information booths.

Sorting & Gift Tables


Sort donations by age and category, restock gift tables, and make sure everything looks welcoming, accessible, and easy to navigate.

Guides, Outreach & Photos


Help with directions, basic outreach, and (with permission) photos or short reflections that help us share the impact of the drive with the wider community.

When and where is the Lunar New Year Gift Drive?

The drive runs on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 1595 16th Avenue, Richmond Hill ON from 4:00–6:00 PM, and on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Aaniin Community Centre 1:00-3:00 PM.

Who can receive gifts?

Families and community members who would appreciate extra support for Lunar New Year are welcome to attend. Gifts are available on a first-come, while-supplies-last basis.

How do I sign up to attend?
