The 2025 OCEA Spring Conference was an incredible opportunity for York Region Educational Services to connect with cooperative education professionals from across Ontario. As an exhibitor, we were thrilled to be part of such a dynamic event dedicated to enhancing experiential learning and work-integrated education for students.

Throughout the conference, we had the pleasure of engaging with cooperative education teachers and educators who are on the front lines of shaping real-world learning opportunities for students. Our booth served as a space to share the resources, programs, and partnerships that York Region Educational Services offers to support the growing needs of cooperative education in our region. We were excited to showcase the various co-op and volunteer opportunities we provide. For example, we offer both virtual and in-person placements in roles such as social media assistant and teaching assistant, which give students the chance to explore career paths, gain real-world experience, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

We enjoyed meaningful conversations about how we can continue collaborating with educators to provide students with valuable skills and work experience that will benefit them throughout their careers. It was inspiring to hear about the innovative ways teachers are integrating work placements and community partnerships into their programs, ensuring that students gain the skills they need to succeed in today’s workforce.

The energy and enthusiasm at the event were incredible, and we left the conference feeling more connected and motivated than ever. The insights we gained from our conversations with attendees will help guide our future efforts to better support cooperative education in York Region and beyond.
