When I first joined YRES, I was expecting a well-structured working environment which catered to working with children and individual projects. I was excited to meet the children I would be teaching as well as my fellow university co-op coworkers. My initial expectations were to be given clear-cut responsibilities and tasks for specific projects I will be working on. I also anticipated working with children, and enhancing my teaching skills. As I eased into this work environment, I was pleased to see that these expectations were met. YRES is definitely organized and prioritizes the students who participate in the programs they provide. I was given a very specific task to work on for the months before the summer camp, with questions answered and feedback given by my co-workers without waiting a short period of time.
